Bihar Government Hikes Dearness Allowance for Employees and Pensioners…

Some positive news for the employees and pensioners of Bihar .The Bihar state government has announced enhancement in the dearness allowance for state government employees and pensioners. The Chief Minster Nitish Kumar made this decision after the byelections, which rought a relief to many. The DA has been increased by 3%, the increase has shifted it from 50% to 53%. From July 2024, this allowance will be raised, and the employees will be issued a three monthly arrears.

Details of the DA Hike

Later on November 14, 2024 at a cabinet led by the newly formed chief minister Nitish Kumar, the government declared its approval on the DA hike and other measures. It is pertaining to about 6 lakh government employees, 5 lakh teachers of government schools and 4 lakh pensioners in Bihar. The amounts for the July, August and September 2024 arrears shall be credited shortly. This will add more to the salaries and pensions from November 2024 on wards.

Salary Payment Three Weeks Earlier in October

On the same note, the Bihar government made it its policy to pay out the November’s salaries in advance on 25 th of October. This decision was taken with respect to the upcoming festival like Diwali and Chhath soon to be followed by something bigger. As for those employees who retired or left the service in October have also for their salaries on the last working day of the month.

Other Cabinet Approvals

In any case, the cabinet was also pleased with several other important proposals such as the setting up of a Cyber Forensic Lab in Rajgir and the consolidation of rural roads.
